Established in 1985, HIM, Hotel Institute Montreux, was one of Switzerland’s first schools to offer hotel management programmes in English.

Since then, HIM has grown considerably and is today considered one of Switzerland’s finest and best known Hotel Management Schools. In two modern campuses in the unique city centre location of metropolitan Montreux we offer high quality academic programmes and exceptional facilities.

Within 3 years, three internationally recognised qualifications can be obtained:

• a Swiss Higher Diploma in International Hotel Management
• an American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) Diploma
• an American BBA Degree (Dual Major) or a British BA Degree.

This together with international experience and work reference letters from two internships you will do in Switzerland or overseas will offer you an excellent package to start your career right after graduation. English Preparation Programme

Since its opening in 1984, thousands of students have graduated from our institute and now hold important positions within the hospitality industry. Many of our graduates are members of our Alumni Association currently active in 86 countries around the world.

English is the official medium of instruction at HIM although the language of the region is French.

All lecturers are well qualified and experienced in both the field they are teaching and in lecturing to international students. All lecturers participate frequently in staff development programmes. Many of the HIM lecturers have worked for numerous years in our institution. In year one, students have the option to request a study mentor, usually a 3rd year or BBA student, to help overcome any initial study difficulties.
