Junior Department swiss international school from 3 to 11 years old
St. George's International Junior Department accepts children from ages 3 to 11.
The Junior Department is a self-contained unit, based in the Chalet. Facilities include a well-stocked library, a laboratory for Information Technology as well as an assembly room and kitchen. It shares the extensive sports facilities with the secondary school.
The Junior Department aims to provide a firm foundation in all areas of education, building on the pupil's own experience. Importance is attached to the principles of integrity, flexibility and stability. These principles are fundamental in the development of the curriculum in the desire to offer a caring, friendly atmosphere, and in ensuring the academic swiss international school future of each pupil.
A firm but friendly approach is practised by all members swiss international school staff. The children are taught to respect each other as well as their teachers. Parents are kept well-informed about their children’s behaviour and will be contacted where this is considered necessary.A broad and balanced timetable is offered in accordance with the British National Curriculum guidelines, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
