Summer Camp Swiss international school
St. George’s School Summer Camp, for boys and girls aged 10-16 years - could be a bit older or younger depending on each student case- accepts students as either day or residential pupils, for four weeks during the month of July.
A successful Summer Camp since the 1980’s, catering for over twenty nationalities every year, St. George’s School offers a superb campus on Lake Geneva Swiss international school, midway between Montreux and Vevey. Our Experienced boarding Swiss international school facilities include 7 tennis courts, basketball court, playing fields, sports hall and wildlife garden.
Language Lessons: students can choose an intensive course in English or French, taught by qualified teachers (15 hours per week). All students are taught in small classes according to their level of ability. Lessons Swiss international school focus on the written, spoken and creative elements of a language. Using our computer facilities, language lessons are enhanced by the internet and our multimedia resources.
Excursions: pupils will have two excursions per week. One is cultural and includes a visit to a Swiss City e.g. Zurich or Geneva and will incorporate a museum visit. The second excursion will take the children up into the mountains and will focus on outdoor activities.
Camping: all residential students experience a two day camping expedition in the Swiss Alps. The children have a taste of hiking, setting up camp, cooking for themselves and taking part in well supervised outdoor activities such as sailing or abseiling.
Sport: during the afternoon, students participate in sports lessons where they learn, or improve their skills in a variety of sports which may include volleyball, basketball, tennis, football, touch rugby, badminton, golf, swimming, fencing, tae kwon do. In addition to these sports we also run an outdoor Swiss international school education programme (using qualified staff) where the children have the opportunity to try rock climbing, archery and sailing (subject to availability). Art classes also form part of the afternoon activities programme.
Accommodation: bedrooms are mainly single and double rooms, in our building overlooking Lake Geneva. A few dormitory rooms are available for the more sociable student! Girls occupy the first floor and boys live on the top two floors of the school. The school laundry service is available to all students.
Food: the catering staff at St. George’s have an excellent reputation for good food and are experienced in catering for students of different cultures and religions, and for those children who may have specific dietary needs.
